Smart Aquaculture Technology Application Sharing Workshop to be held on September 3, 2020 by the Fisheries Research Institute

The Fisheries Research Institute, Council of Agriculture is scheduled to hold the “Smart Aquaculture Technology Application Sharing Workshop” at Garden Villa (No. 801, Chongde Rd., Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City) on September 3, 2020, where participants or implementers of the implementation program of the smart aquaculture industry will be invited to share applications of smart aquaculture technology, including General Manager Ching-Yi Wang of Fong Yu, Chairman Yen-Ting Lin of Creative Way Global, Chairman Kun-Tsai Tai of Long Diann Marine Biotechnology, and Chairman Yi-Shan Huang of Sheng-Diao Aquatic Technology.

    The Fisheries Research Institute points out that smart technology is changing with each passing day, with global smart farming fishery industry products divided into three major areas: hardware and network platforms, peripheral services, and software systems. The Institute has implemented the Smart Agriculture Program of Council of Agriculture since 2017 to invest in the farming and fishery industry configuration and for developing core technologies, has successively developed a number of intelligent breeding technologies, and is moving towards digital services. Related achievements are transferred to farmers or agricultural enterprises through technology transfer or technology authorization, thus playing the role of a leader in promoting the country's intelligent breeding technology.

   The Fisheries Research Institute states that in addition to the government's research and development of related technologies, the Program also encourages agricultural enterprises or other related industries to invest in intelligent applications in the aquaculture industry. The Institute also counsels the industry to participate in the development of smart aquaculture technologies. The workshop will invite participants to take part in the implementation of the program of the smart agriculture industry under the guidance of the Institute in order to share how to use aquaculture technology to save labor, reduce manpower, promote intelligent production, processing, and sales, and enhance mutual observation and learning as well as experience exchanges of smart farming technology in Taiwan's aquaculture and fishery industry. The overall goal is to promote the introduction of the concept of “smart farming” to fishermen and to provide guidance and promotion. The Fisheries Research Institute sincerely welcomes all guests who are interested in participating in smart farming technology to come for information exchange and/or consultation.
