究Studies on Larval Development of the Rhynchocinetid Shrimp (Rhynchocinetes durbanensis)

The larvae of Rhynchocinetes durbanensis grew through twelve zoea stages and one postlarvae stage and metamorphosed into the juvenile at 55 days cultivation under the 27.0 ± 1.0 ℃, 33.0 ± 1.0 psu. The major morphological characteristics of each stage was described and illustrated. The number of eggs of each ovigerous female varied from 267 to1,764. The eggs were hatched at 9 days after spawning under 29.2 ± 0.3 ℃ or at 18 days under 22.0 ± 1.4 ℃. The reproductive cycle was 10 days under 28.2 ± 0.5 ℃ or 20 days under 21.9 ± 1.1 ℃.
