New trend in fishery - Fisheries Research Institute 2019 Intelligent Aquaculture Scientific and Technological Achievements Presentation and Press Conference

Thre Fisheries Research Institute held its “New trend in fishery - Fisheries Research Institute 2019 Intelligent Aquaculture Scientific and Technological Achievements Presentation and Press Conference” forum in “exhibition forum classroom A (Booth S2430) of Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (No. 39, Chenggong 2nd Road, Qianzhen District, Kaohsiung City) on September 26 of 2019 and presented intelligent aquaculture technology and the achievements of assisting industrial insiders developed by the institute at Booth S2307 during the International Fishery Exhibition on September 26 to 28 of 2019. With the help of the 2019 Taiwan International Fishery Exhibition Period, the intelligent aquaculture fishery technical alliance has been expanded and promoted, with the goal of promoting mutual learning and experience exchange of intelligent aquaculture technology in Taiwan and enhancing fishermen’s concept of “intelligent aquaculture for tutorship and promotion”.

It is the third year that Council of Agriculture has engaged in intelligent agriculture promotion. In the morning session of the forum, thr Fisheries Research Institute introduced technologies and achievements developed by the institute in intelligent aquaculture fishery, and then the intelligent aquaculture technology R&D team consisting of th Fisheries Research Institute and industrial technology research institute conducted an achievement presentation aiming at R&D resources with governmental subsidy and industrial application examples, underwater aquaculture fish 3D length measuring system, a multiple sensing precise aquaculture feeding system, an unmannedwater surface vehicle aquaculture pond bottom environment monitoring technology and aquaculture multiple pathogenic bacteria detection auxiliary device. In the afternoon, manufacturer representatives conducted media exchange of relevant products exhibiting intelligent aquaculture technology.

 

Presentation of intelligent aquaculture technology and achievements of assisting industrial insiders (Booth S2307)

The Fisheries Research Institute has presented 5 intelligent aquaculture technologies and 4 achievements of assisting industrial insiders at Booth S2307. Intelligent aquaculture technologies include underwater aquaculture fish 3D length measuring system, aquaculture fishes underwater activity image sensing and analysis system, a multiple sensing precise aquaculture feeding system, aquaculture multiple pathogenic bacteria detection auxiliary device, and aquaculture sense control networking decision-making feedback control system. The achievements of tutoring 4 industrial insiders to implement plans include grouper high-density aid decision-making intelligent aquaculture environment monitoring system, net cage aquaculture fish length image counting and identification management system, Taiwan porgy fry intelligent sizing counting and fish disease sensing networking visualization system development and application of artificial intelligence technology to accelerate the transportation and sale process of aquarium fishes and to innovate business operation modes.

 

Create innovative future for the sustainable development of aquaculture

Fishery products are important food, nutrition, income, and livelihood sources of hundreds of millions of people in the world, and the global aquaculture quantity at present has exceeded wild catches. According to the analysis of world fishery and aquaculture, it is expected that the global aquaculture yield of 2025 will increase by nearly one hundred million tons, occupying nearly 1/2 of global aquatic supply. The Fisheries Research Institute noted that, in order to implement intelligent agriculture policies, develop intelligent aquaculture technologies, drive the application of intelligent production technologies and digital service concepts in aquaculture industry, and promote the industry towards intelligent aquaculture, except for solving the problems actually discovered that the industry faces by introducing information communication science and technology development intelligent aquaculture technology and aquaculture labor-saving machines, resources can also be effectively integrated by governments continuously providing industry technology integrated resources to gradually guide the industry’s scientific management with experience-based judgment. The institute said that it expected the achievement presentation could make attendants know more about the R&D and applications of relevant technologies of intelligent agriculture and to meet the purpose of turnover upgrading of aquaculture fishery by promoting an intelligent aquaculture technical alliance.
