Fisheries Research Institute and Keelung City Government Renew Collaboration: Integrity Volunteers Engage Children through Storytelling at the Childcare Center

  • PostDate:2025-04-10

The Fisheries Research Institute and the Keelung City Government Department of Civil Service Ethics have once again collaborated on a cross-sector resource-sharing initiative. To promote integrity and honesty education on campus, the Fisheries Research Institute invited integrity volunteers from the Keelung City Government to visit the Institute's Childcare Service Center and share stories with children.

The Fisheries Research Institute stated that the Childcare Service Center has operated since October 1, 2022. It was established as the first center under the Ministry of Agriculture (formerly the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan) in alignment with the Executive Yuan's "0-6 Years Comprehensive Care Policy". The Institute expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of the Keelung City Government’s Civil Service Ethics Office, which has agreed to send highly praised and well-regarded integrity volunteers in 2025. They will conduct three storytelling sessions for children at the center on March 12, April 16, and May 14. Notably, feedback from teachers and parents on the 2024 storytelling sessions was highly positive. The Institute appreciated the volunteers' engaging performances and their commitment to integrate the principles of integrity and honesty into the stories, bringing joy and laughter to the children.

Hsin-Ming Yeh, the Deputy Director of the Fisheries Research Institute, delivered a speech at the "Welcome Volunteers for Storytelling" ceremony. He reflected on the 2024 storytelling sessions led by the Keelung City Government’s integrity volunteers, commending their dedication, efforts, and engaging performances, which were widely praised. This event not only strengthened collaboration between the Institute and the Keelung City Government but also paved the way for more diverse cross-sector resource-sharing initiatives in the future.Hsin-Ming Yeh from the Fisheries Research Institute, Director Chen from the Ministry of Agriculture’s Civil Service Ethics Office, Deputy Director Chang from the Keelung City Government Department of Civil Service Ethics, integrity volunteers, and children from the Childcare Service Center posed for a group photo.
