Effect of Iron content on the Agar Quality

Iron content of raw Gracilaria were between 280 to 3,000 mg/l (on the dry basis) with high variation. The iron content ratio of agar to raw material for G. lichenoides and G. confervoides were 33-58% and 70-90% respectively.
