The New Trend of Fishery – The Publication of Smart Farming Science and Technology Achievements and Media Conference

This October 24th (2018), the Fisheries Research Institute is set to hold the New Trend of Fishery – The Publication of Smart Farming Science and Technology Achievements and Media Conference at Room 207 of the Southern Taiwan Innovation & Research Park, Ministry of Economic Affairs (No.31, Gongye 2nd Rd., Annan Dist., Tainan City). Apart from the publication of achievements of the Smart Agriculture Plan 4.0 launched by the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan and executed by the Fisheries Research Institute, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, the event also invited smart agricultural technology related manufacturers for technical sharing and mediation, so as to promote the concept of ‘smart farming’, as well as experience exchanges between fishermen and Taiwanese fisheries industry on smart farming technologies. In response to the global competition of smart technology developments, as well as the declining employed population, the Executive Yuan thereby promotes the 5+2 innovation industries. In terms of the agricultural innovation industry, he Council of Agriculture launches the Smart Agriculture Plan 4.0. The Fisheries Research Institute cut into the development of smart farming technology in hope to solve existing problems of the current fisheries industry. The conference will then present the findings of the research. The conference is divided into two parts. In the morning session, the technical plan and preliminary results of the farming fisheries industry of the Fisheries Research Institute, research results of the 2017-2018 smart farming technology team (the Fisheries Research Institute and the Smart Microsystems Technology Center, Industrial Technology Research Institute, and the labor-saving machinery jointly developed by the Institute, National Taiwan Ocean University and Chang Jung Christian University will be presented; in the afternoon session, a total of 9 local smart farming technology-related manufacturers will participate in technology sharing of smart monitoring and system integration, fisheries product processing, labor-saving machinery, breeding facilities and information platforms. In the media conference session, 27 booths will be showcasing related technologies or products. Farming of the traditional fisheries industry is largely dependent on nature’s giving. With the introduction of smart technology, the government promotes New Agriculture 4.0 policies, in order to develop labor-saving and energy-saving machinery, promote technologies such as import smart sensing, smart devices, internet of things, big data analysis, artificial intelligence, in hope to facilitate smooth transformation of farming fisheries, rejuvenating and breathing new into the traditional farming fisheries industry. The conference will invite experts of the relevant fields for discussion and exchanges on the matter. At the same time, coupled with vendor display and commercial matchmaking, it is hoped that participants will be able to learn more about how to make use of smart technology to create high-performance and profitable opportunities through the event, thereby promoting industrial competitiveness of the different individuals.
